What are the benefits of dental implants?

There are numerous benefits of dental implants! Our patients have chosen dental implants for their stability, longevity and beauty. Dental implants stay in place and can last a lifetime with good care; furthermore, they look just like your natural teeth! Because they stay secure in your mouth, you’ll never have to remove them for cleaning. You can treat them just like your real teeth. Dental implants are the most beneficial tooth-replacement option. Furthermore, you are guaranteed a quality dental implants experience from Dr. Bullock’s office. Contact us today to schedule a free consultation with Dr. LaDerrick Bullock.

How do dental implants compare to dentures?

Marlton patients see dental implants as a choice toward more convenience. Dental implants act as a real tooth root, fusing with the jawbone and providing a sturdy foundation for replacement teeth. Instead of the special hygiene routine you need for dentures, you can treat dental implants just like your other teeth and clean them with brushing, flossing and mouthwash. Dental implants are a return to normalcy!

Dental implants also provide necessary tooth-root support. Without this support, jawbone loss and shrinkage may occur. This can lead to pain and a weakened bite. On the flip side, dentures can end up irritating the gums and jaw due to lack of support.

How long does the dental implants process take?

Generally, the dental implants process is broken into 4 steps and can take several months:

  1. Step 1: Dr. Bullock will determine if you are good candidate for implants in a personal consultation.
  2. Step 2: Once considered a good candidate, you will be ready for dental implants surgery. During this procedure, Dr. Bullock will embed very small titanium roots into your jawbone with a special drill. You may be sent home with transitory teeth after this surgery.
  3. Step 3: During the recovery period, your metal roots will amazingly fuse with your jawbone in a process called osseointegration. When this process is complete in a few months time, the roots will be as durable as your natural teeth!
  4. Step 4: After osseointegration is complete, you will come back to the office to have your transitory teeth removed and your new, custom-crafted teeth added. Your transformation will be complete.

The length of the process also depends if you need bone grafting surgery before the dental implants procedure.

Are dental implants right for me?

Dental implants are truly an innovative and fantastic tooth-replacement option; however, not everyone is eligible for dental implants. Dr. Bullock will conduct a thorough examination of your mouth to make sure you are a good candidate for the procedure. For patients that are eligible, dental implants have a high satisfaction rate.
